The truth is painful...
Today's moment of honesty from a 5 year old:
E: Mom, when I go to kindergarten, I will ride the bus to school?
Me: Yes, E.
E: And the bus will bring me home again?
Me: Yes, E.
E: Ok, then I won't need you anymore.
(Ok, then. Here are the car keys, I'll leave food in the fridge. Call me in Bermuda when you graduate)

So funny! Sometimes I wish they didn't need me so much, then other times, it's nice.

Yes, and I bet this was fairly closely followed by a big hug of appreciation. Yes the truth does hurt and 5 year olds are great at dishing it out.

Ouch, and yet, so cute.

I promise she'll need you.

She'll be looking for you when the bus pulls up.
